St. Matthew provides pastoral care in a variety of different ways to all members of the congregation as well as those who seek out the church in a time of personal crisis or need. Our clergy and pastoral care team work closely together to offer spiritual support to those who find themselves experiencing any number of life changing events, such as illness or the death of a loved one. Approximately 15 parishioners are visited on a regular basis in their homes, hospitals, retirement residences and long term care facilities.
Fellowship is also an important aspect of pastoral care. We live in a time when we have never been more connected to each other through means like social media. Despite this, we have never felt more disconnected. Because of our strong sense of community and care for one another, St. Matthew offers people the opportunity to enter into meaningful relationships through many different activities and events, and to experience the incarnate love of Christ as we walk this journey together.
